What are your wedding venue's capacity and available spaces?
Our wedding venue can accommodate up to 180 guests seated or standing. We offer both indoor and outdoor spaces, including our picturesque Chapels, Pergola and Main Tent. Additionally, for smaller weddings, we offer our indoor Sandpiper venue.
Can we host both the ceremony and reception at your venue?
Absolutely! Many couples choose to exchange vows in our scenic Dune, Outlook or Beach Chapel before celebrating their reception in one of our versatile event spaces.
Do you offer catering services?
Yes, we provide full-service catering tailored to your preferences, including menu customization and dietary accommodations.
Can we bring our own decorations and vendors?
Yes, you're welcome to bring your own decor and vendors to personalize your wedding day. Our team will work closely with you and your vendors to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Do you have on-site accommodation for guests?
Yes, we offer 27 rooms accommodating up to 65 guests, allowing you and your guests to stay on-site and enjoy the celebrations without worrying about transportation.
Is there parking available for guests?
Yes, we have ample parking space available for guests attending your wedding.
Can we schedule a site visit to see the venue in person?
Of course! We encourage couples to visit our venue to envision their special day. Please contact us to schedule a site visit at your convenience.
Do you provide assistance with permits and licenses for beach weddings?
Yes, we'll handle all the necessary permits and licenses for beach weddings, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience for you.
What is the best time of the year to organise our wedding at Strandkombuis?
All months have their own charm! From August to November, we have all the beautiful flowers that bloom after the winter rains, and an amazing variety of bird life, including the stunning flamingos.
December, January, and February offer glorious blue skies and fabulous views over the 16-mile beach. March and April provide pleasant warm evenings with spectacular sunsets.
Please note that we close from mid-May until the end of August each year.
What happens in case of inclement weather?
In case of inclement weather, we have alternative indoor spaces available to ensure your wedding proceeds smoothly, regardless of the conditions.
Can I have my dog at our wedding? Are you pet friendly?
Absolutely! Dogs are welcome throughout the ceremony, pre-drinks, and reception without any issue. However, we do ask for your understanding regarding rooms 1 and 32, which are in close proximity to the owner's house where three dogs reside. This proximity might lead to potential disturbances. Please note that this situation is limited to one side of the property.
To ensure a comfortable and undisturbed stay for everyone, we recommend considering the use of our designated pet-friendly rooms for your furry companions.
Can we bring our own drinks to the wedding?
While we provide a fully stocked bar with a variety of drinks, you're welcome to bring your own wine and champagne. Please note that there is a corkage fee for wine and for champagne. Other beverages can be purchased from the bar by you or your guests.
Do you have a generator? How does load shedding affect the venue?
Yes, we do have a generator. During load shedding, the Sandpiper, Honeymoon suite/Reception venue, and the Restaurant/Party Venue will have power. However, please note that the rooms will not have electricity. We do provide candles and matches in each room.
